The biggest visual change was in the original office where we painted over the honey wood tones on the original panelled walls with a crisp white palette. To freshen and update this craftsman home we chose a modern farmhouse style with some added industrial elements.
This home had many great features including large living spaces, good flow throughout and spectacular views from almost every room.
Reworking the layout and revitalizing an untouched early 1990’s apartment into an open, contemporary space that fully takes advantage of it’s beautiful water views.
As the suites were to be rented, the materials and fixtures selected needed to appeal to a particular demographic and emphasis had to be placed on durability and accessibility using products and finishes that require minimal maintenance.
Our goal was to renovate the main floor living spaces of this 1940s cottage – and not lose its charm in the process.
We introduced a contemporary, industrial theme by adding the black metal railings, several concrete and stone tile finishes as well as new, modern light fixtures.
